Power that asks you to attack. Versatility that lets you change gears. Explore the technology behind two Selkirk paddle families—and what each difference means when you play.

If you enjoy taking the initiative with drives and counters, start with what sits inside Boomstik. BoomCore combines a PureFoam centre with an EVA foam power ring. This all-foam construction is the foundation of its power-focused response.
The cutaway shows the two parts clearly: the central foam structure and the ring surrounding it. Together, they give you a different construction from a conventional honeycomb core. Boomstik is designed for a lively rebound without a break-in period.
Bring your soft game into the decision too. A lively paddle can help you attack, but your drops and resets still need to land where you intend. Choose the response you can use throughout the point.

Not every rally asks for the same answer. You might absorb a fast ball, place the next one softly, then attack an opening. OMNI’s ReactCore is built around that all-court approach, bringing control and power into the same setup.
This is the main difference to keep in mind when comparing the two families: Boomstik centres its identity on explosive power; OMNI centres its identity on adapting across the court. OMNI is a different core design, not simply another Boomstik colour.
When you compare them, play the same sequence with each: a soft exchange, a reset and an attacking ball. Notice how comfortably you move between those jobs.

A paddle’s face is more than its outer texture. The Multistrata design uses a layered face construction. In Boomstik, that layup is tuned for added flex, power and dwell time—the brief moment the ball stays in contact with the face.
Face flex and surface texture do different jobs. The face construction contributes to the rebound and contact feel; the surface helps grip the ball. Keeping those two ideas separate makes the technology names easier to understand.
Boomstik and OMNI both use Multistrata faces, but their tuning differs: Boomstik prioritises power and dwell time, while OMNI takes a more balanced direction. A shared technology name does not mean an identical response.

MOI means moment of inertia: resistance to rotation. In a paddle, the placement of weight matters as well as the total weight. It affects how the paddle moves through a swing and how stable it feels when contact is away from the centre.
Boomstik uses a semi-permanent weighting system as part of its ready-to-play balance. OMNI adds an adjustable MOI tuning system, giving you more flexibility to customise the setup.
If you enjoy refining your equipment, that adjustability is a meaningful difference. Make one change at a time and compare the same shots so you can feel what changed. Follow the paddle’s adjustment instructions rather than treating any weight position as a universal improvement.

InfiniGrit is the hitting-surface technology shared by both paddles. Its role is to support grip on the ball and spin generation. It is separate from the foam core and from the weighting system.
For your game, the useful question is whether you can produce the shape and placement you want repeatedly. Topspin still depends on your contact and swing path; a textured surface does not create the shot for you.
The OMNI poster describes three times the spin durability of raw carbon. That is Selkirk’s durability comparison, not a claim that every shot produces three times the spin.

Selkirk’s chart reports 12% more exit velocity and 10% less reaction time compared with a comparable Gen 3 paddle. Those numbers describe a manufacturer comparison; they are not a promise of the same increase against every paddle or for every player.
The graphic also highlights the all-foam construction and its resistance to core crush. That construction benefit does not mean the whole paddle is immune to wear or damage.
Use the chart to understand Boomstik’s design priorities, then bring the decision back to your game: the attacking response you want, the soft shots you need and a balance you can move comfortably.

Choose the family first, then the shape, thickness and finish. Calypso is shown here on both families: the colour does not make them the same paddle.
